South Glos Red Bus Outing to Weston to view the new pier (shame it wasn't finished!)

27 members of South Gloucestershire Wine Circle got their buckets and spades out and climbed aboard
Bristol's London Routemaster Bus and headed for Weston.  The plan to view the new pier was slightly
modified by the fact that it isn't open yet, but a sunny afternoon a picnic on the beach and a game of cricket
soon made up for that.

Peter (left) Wendy and Neil set for a day of giving away free wine and inviting visitors to take the taste challenge 140 people tested their taste buds to see if they could tell the difference between Sherry, Port and Madeira. The correct answer (A)-Madeira, (B)-Sherry, (C)-Port and the lucky winner Mrs Byatt from Stoke Gifford. A sunny day brought huge crowds out to support the this very well organised event. Conveniently we were next door to Kingswood Photographic Society and our joint member John Long took this excellent photo.
